Who knows if I’ll change my mind, but I think I’m selling my V70 and the rusty E28, and throwing some cash at my 144. Got the poor thing running last year and then let it sit for another year.

Classic Volvos are awesome....I would love a PV, Duett or an Amazon someday...

As much as Id hate to see the V70 and E28 go, I dont think its a bad idea to focus on one car vs. s everal.

Parents had a ‘68- 144. The 140 series was phenomenal and was competition for the 2002. Saw a 142e race in New Hampshire in scca and it was up front all the time. Handled on rails. I don’t know why they ditched double wishbone for MacPherson but I’m sure it was cost and easy maintenance.

A 142 would be great to have today. Classic that handles and lasts.

My stepfather had a wagon of that vintage. It was a long time ago, and all I really remember was that sideways speedometer. IIRC, there was a target slider you could move back and forth.

Same. I think an Amazon would be on my top 10 list, I really want one.

The V70 is going to go regardless, it high-centres too easily. It is a very good car, but I should’ve held out for an XC70. The E28 I’m very torn about. I might see if my friend who also loves E28s wants it for cheap, I don’t want to see it just used for parts.

That would have me down to two cars, but two is more sane than four....

I don’t understand why they’re so few and far between now. Even amongst Volvo people, there are tens of 240s, Amazons, P1800s, even PVs for every 140.

Mine isn’t the best, but I’ve yet to find a better one locally, so I’m determined to keep this one alive. I haven’t driven it in 7 years, but I remember it having lovely handling despite the worn out struts.

That is correct, I think the idea was to put it at the speed limit

Im a man who used to have a million hobbies.  I found my quality of life drastically improved when I started concentrating on just a few.  Similarly, my wife and I each have a daily and now I have a project.  Well, technically 2 and its already driving me crazy because Id love to get my 850 out of here before my 240 comes home.

I’m aiming to streamline a bit. I have too many balls in the air. I’ve already stopped looking for different stereo gear to try out, and I’m trying to just work with the cameras and lenses that I already have and stop looking for more. As well as aiming to just have two cars, the smart way to do it would be one practical daily and one project. We’ll see. Projects around the house have been taking precedence, and it’s been nice to take a break from my hobbies, ironically.

We bought a house about 2.5 years ago and it was a bit of a fixer-upper, especially in the yard, so house projects have been taking a lot of my time and energy. Aside from that I shoot competitively and coach a junior marksmanship team. We practice once a week (or were, before the Corona) which eats up Sunday afternoons. Mrs. Snuze also has a health issue and has to get treated once a month. I work a compressed schedule, 9 hour days and every other Friday off, but one of those Fridays goes to taking care of her. I also have a job that requires a fair amount of travel - I was gone a week every month last year. Of course this year I made one trip back in early February and since then, nothing.

So as it stands my dance car is pretty full, so one car project is about all I can manage with everything else going on. But having cut out a lot of other stuff, Id describe myself as comfortably busy, which I like.

Sounds like a good plan.
